ROV size

Post by RahmaMagdy » Wed Mar 24, 2021 11:19 am

Concerning the ROV's size limitations, is it okay to settle the micro non-ROV device during the size measures on top of the ROV -for the sake of the 10pts bonus-. Then later attach it in other position before the product demonstration.

Thanks in advance,

Obviously MATE will give you the final ruling, but I'm 97% sure you can. We usually do that with our manipulator claws since they stick outside the sphere when attached.

Yes. The micro-ROV (and as pointed out other tools) may be removed and placed on top, beside, inside, the primary ROV. All tools/devices must go through size and weight, but can be detached.

One note: If placing the micro-ROV on top of your vehicle makes that the largest dimension (i.e. higher than it is long or wide), that will be the dimension measured. So if you have a very cube-like ROV, setting it on top may not keep you in the size measurements.

Good luck.
