Power not through TriggerFish board

Post by MikeReillyLanier » Mon Mar 15, 2021 4:48 am

Hi, rookie mentor here from Georgia, electrical question:

We are starting with the TriggerFish kit, but wanting to add two T200s for vertical, and using TriggerFish thrusters for horizontal. It does not seem like the TriggerFish board has enough connections for powering our ESC/T200s, so wondering if we need to splice the power before it goes into the control box. My question: what is legal to do in this situation? I saw ELEC-IS-004 and not sure if you consider these to be a sensor, invoking the 3 amp fuse which would surely not work.

Anyone with experience in either a similar build, or the rules? Thanks! Trying to do something fun during pandemic!

Hi Lanier High Sea Cows:

Motors would not count as independent sensors, so are not limited to the lower amperage.

For RANGER class teams, you can break off electricity to power additional motors at any point after your single connection to power (Anderson powerpoles) and the single inline fuse. So you must have a single point of connection to power which goes through a single fuse, but after that, you can split off power to run whatever additional systems you have.

Good luck.
