Sensor question

Post by kolya_dv » Thu Apr 30, 2015 12:19 am

Hello!
We have a question. Can we have an anode testing sensor(powered via usb) on the ROV with a cable separate from the ROV tether? Can we detach and pull the sensor out of the pool after we have used it?

I will send this out to the MATE judge staff and return an answer as soon as possible.

You may have an independent USB powered sensor, provided it falls within the independent sensor rules (see the EXPLORER competition manual).

Note, you must have the ROV detach your independent sensor from the platform leg before you pull it up by hand. Pulling your sensor off when it is in direct contact with the platform leg could damage the construction.

Also note: The 2-inch pipe simulates the leg of a platform, which would reach all the way to the surface. You will not be able to set a device over the top of the pipe to measure all four test points at one time, that would not be possible in the real world.

Good luck.
