Anode Measurements

Post by supershook » Tue Apr 28, 2015 4:15 pm

My team built the anode and we are trying to figure out how long it is supposed to be. The only information given is, "Drill two 3/16-inch holes on opposite sides of another 2-inch PVC coupling. These holes should be in the middle of the coupling, approximately 4 cm from either end." Which gave us no idea how long it should be. Can anyone help us?

-Sea Dogs
P.S. We are part of the Ranger class, if that has any effect on the length of the anode

The bolt goes from the outside of the coupling and holds (and connects to) a Fender washer. The Fender washer offers a larger area for teams to make contact. Inside the coupling, the bolt is held on with nuts.

I think the bolt I used was 1-inch, but you could use a longer one.

Check out the build specification for photos and more information on building the galvanic measurements.

Note: For length of wire, it should be long enough to get from the bottom of the pool to the control / switch box on the surface (which should stay dry).

Good luck.
