thrusterhousing question

Post by Akkiri » Mon May 05, 2014 7:29 am

Hi,
Is it allowed to use destilled water inside thrusterhousing for preassure compensation. As long as the water issent conductive, the motors are brushless and the thrusterhousing does not leak. And what if we have leakage?

Thank you

Distilled water may not be used inside thruster housings. Although it may be not be conductive, water is still corrosive. Therefore these motors would be classified as disposable, which is against the rules (Electrical 3.3.2). The MATE judge panel recommends using an inert oil instead of distilled water.

Good luck.
