3D Printing suggestions - materials and recommendations

Post by ehagen » Fri Dec 17, 2021 11:49 am

Hello,

Our school is looking at acquiring a new 3D printer. In the past we used Makerbot with a PLA or Tough PLA. We have not been satisfied with the strength and durability of these prints. We have had prints wrap when left in the sun or in a car. Do you all have a recommendation of either a type of material and/or a printer that you have had success with in a student setting. ABS is supposed to be durable, are the fumes bad? What about PET or PETG? Thank you for your suggestions.
