Re: Clarification on Task 3.1

Yes, the 2" pipe will be floating vertically (or almost vertically) within the red square of PVC pipe. The 17 cm of flotation at the top will hold the top 5 cm of the GO-BGC float out of the water. The float will not be attached to anything within the red square, which is created from 1/2-inch PVC p...

Re: Clarification on Task 1.4 (Piloting ROV into docking station)

Hi Peyton: If the LED does not need to stay on for companies to get points. If your ROV pushes the button and the LED comes on for even a short time, you are good. At that point your product demonstration run is finished, and you have moved into your demobilization time period. Yes, waterproofing of...

The corrugated sheeting will be white. The exact shade of white may differ a bit, but the corrugated plastic sheeting will be white.

Good luck.

Re: Task 3.3 Questions

From the RANGER manual: Product Demonstration Notes: Companies may complete the steps of Task 3: Maintaining Healthy Waterways II: Delaware River and Bay in any order. So yes, you may carry down the new eel trap before bringing the old one back up. And yes, you could do other tasks while having an e...

Re: Task.1.1

Did you try the link in the prop building instructions? It still leads to the proper website. Just make sure to choose the 12 Volt option. Additional note: The link in the EXPLORER manual takes you to the EXPLORER Prop Building Guide. The link in the EXPLORER Prop Building Guide takes you to the sit...

Re: Air Pressure Valvue

The May 15th guideline is for EXPLORER teams to submit pressure release valve specifications for any Non-ROV device that uses a 3 PSI pressure release valve instead of the other methods to make sure pressure does not build up in their Non-ROV device battery / electronics housing. The section Key Dea...

Re: Seabin rope (task 1.1)

Yes, the rope turning, the Seabin moving and not being stable in the water is part of the mission and something all teams should be prepared to deal with. The length of the rope will not be provided to teams. But you know the depth of the pool (see manual). Good luck. Matthew Gardner MATE ROV Compet...

Re: rov updates after video demonstration deadline

Yes, you can change your tube to acyrilc afterwards. The components inside should mostly stay the same. If a component burns out, you can change it out, you can upgrade, but nothing new should be added. The frame shape can change as well, but overall, your motor configuration should stay the same. I...

Re: Task 1 (Inquiries)

From the Manual: "Once the new mesh catch bag has been installed, power must be restored to the Seabin. If the new mesh catch bag has not been installed, companies may not attempt to reconnect the power connector." If the new mesh catch bag is not properly installed, you cannot get points for attemp...
