Yes, we have a number of teams pursuing this challenge, especially after the MATE ROV Competitions (regionals and world championships) concluded in the summer.

Re: [Explorer] Task 3.4: color of corrugated plastic sheeting

The corrugated sheeting will be white. The exact shade of white may differ a bit, but the corrugated plastic sheeting will be white.

Good luck.

Re: Task.2.2

Your company could choose to put something behind the coral colony during the 15 minute mission run to make it easier to analyze the photo. But it would count as debris, so it would be up to your vehicle to place and remove it before the mission time is up. Good luck. Matthew Gardner MATE ROV Compet...

Re: Remote Video Pool Depth

If you are competing in the Telepresence World Championship, there are specific rules about the depth of the pool. And you will need to find a pool that fits all of your mission props. You could leave a mission prop out, but then you would not get points for that. See the 2021 Telepresence manual fo...

Re: Marketing Display for telepresence category [Explorers]

8 MB is the maximum size for the marketing display submission. MATE is not giving discretionary point for pamphlets, journals, etc. for the TELEPRESENCE marketing display. Nothing other than the marketing display should be submitted. Any marketing display or other document submitted for the World Ch...

Re: Task 3.3 Questions

From the RANGER manual: Product Demonstration Notes: Companies may complete the steps of Task 3: Maintaining Healthy Waterways II: Delaware River and Bay in any order. So yes, you may carry down the new eel trap before bringing the old one back up. And yes, you could do other tasks while having an e...

Re: Task.1.1

Did you try the link in the prop building instructions? It still leads to the proper website. Just make sure to choose the 12 Volt option. Additional note: The link in the EXPLORER manual takes you to the EXPLORER Prop Building Guide. The link in the EXPLORER Prop Building Guide takes you to the sit...

Re: Air Pressure Valvue

The May 15th guideline is for EXPLORER teams to submit pressure release valve specifications for any Non-ROV device that uses a 3 PSI pressure release valve instead of the other methods to make sure pressure does not build up in their Non-ROV device battery / electronics housing. The section Key Dea...

Re: Seabin rope (task 1.1)

Yes, the rope turning, the Seabin moving and not being stable in the water is part of the mission and something all teams should be prepared to deal with. The length of the rope will not be provided to teams. But you know the depth of the pool (see manual). Good luck. Matthew Gardner MATE ROV Compet...
