[Ranger] Questions about permitted operations

Post by Gotcha_BNDS » Wed Jun 05, 2019 7:46 pm

Hello MATE Forum Administrator,
I am the team leader of DeepDive BNDS from Beijing National Day School, and our team is qualified to participate in the final.
I want to check a few things that are not specified in the Ranger Manual, and see if we can take advantage of these issues:
#1 The Manual says that "Companies may complete the steps of Task 1 (or 2 or 3) in any order"; however, can we accomplish the steps across all tasks in the order we want? For example, after replacing the trash rack in Task 1, we proceed to the trout fry release in Task 2.
#2 The product demonstration prop building instruction says that the rectangle size on the dam will be "25 cm to 35 cm in each dimension"; can we know the exact dimensions of these rectangles before the final? This can be helpful to us in terms of measuring the crack length.
#3 We have a lift bag for lifting the cannon, but are we allowed to use the lift bag to lift our ROV? If so, does the lift bag count into the weight and dimension measurements of our ROV?

Yes. You can generally do the tasks (across all three tasks) in any order. So yes, you could replace the trash rack, then move to trout fry, then back to grout, etc.

No. For RANGER teams, you will not know the exact size of the rectangles.

You can use your lift bag at other times, if needed. If it is removable from your ROV, it is not included in size and weight.
