[EXPLORER] Line Following

Post by hkustepoxsea » Mon Jun 03, 2019 6:41 am

With regards to the line following mission, would we be able to attempt the autonomous line following after conducting line following using manual control to improve our score during the run? Or are we only given 1 chance to attempt the task in each mission run?

Thank you.

I have forwarded this on to the image recognition / autonomy folks for their opinion. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I consulted with our image recognition / autonomy folks.

You may go back and retry autonomously following the line after following it manually. However, this only applies to following the line. Any determination of the length of the crack will be tied in with how you navigated the line, and cannot be retried.

So if you pilot through manually and get a length measurement for the crack (autonomously or manually), you cannot go back through on autonomous control and re-measure the length of the crack to increase your points for that mission task.
