[EXPLORER] OpenROV Thrusters - Safe to Use?

Post by EER_Mark » Wed May 08, 2019 11:29 am

Are these thrusters, https://store.openrov.com/collections/d ... /motor-set (part of the original OpenROV Kit), safe to use at the competition?

According to the description on their site, "... there have been a few custom modifications to the wire insulation to allow them to work well underwater..."

We assume these might fall into the same "safe" category as Blue Robotics commercial brushless thrusters, but would like to know for sure.

From the description on the link you provided, these motors do not appear to be waterproof without modifications. It specifically says they are not corrosion proof, hence they are not waterproof. So they would not be allowed to be used without further modification and waterproofing.

Good luck.
