Cannon and U-bolt

Post by durkino » Thu Mar 14, 2019 7:52 am

It the cannon is round it can easily rotate. This will move the position of the U-bolt.

Will the cannon remain upright in some way so the U-bolt is accessible and the ID number is visible?

Please advise if there is a necessary step for constructing the cannon so it will remain set up similar to how it will be done at the MATE Competition.

Yes. The U-bolt will remain on top and the ID number visible on the side.

To achieve this, attach all your weights inside the pipe to one side (the bottom side). That will keep the round cannon from rotating. Note that if you bump the cannon with your ROV, you will likely rotate it some, but with the weights all along one side, it should always right itself.

Good luck.
