[EXPLORER] Lifting Cannon

Post by Ismail Shaheen » Sun Dec 30, 2018 8:30 am

Is it a must that the ROV thrust power be involved in lifting the cannon from the bottom to the top? In other words, can we use an external lift bag to bring the cannon to the surface independent of ROV (ROV is only attaching the lift bag to the cannon and then moves to another task while the cannon is being lifted to the surface)?

Additional devices (such as a lift bag) may be used to lift the cannon to the surface. However, you may not pull on a line/rope/cord to retrieve the cannon.

So once the cannon is on the surface, the ROV must push it to the side of the pool. You can't use a person's muscles to return it to the surface, side of the pool. Any team member pulling on a rope/line/cord is considered manually pulling and not allowed.

Good luck.

Hi,

Does it mean that the lifting of the cannon can be done without the ROV itself? In other word, ROV only pushes the cannon to the pool side. Is this allow in the competition?

Thanks.

Yes. You may use another device, such as a lift bag to lift the cannon to the surface and then have the ROV push it to the side of the pool for recovery.

You cannot use a person pool side to pull it back by hand (manually).

Good luck.
