[Ranger] Clarification On How To Return Cannon To Surface

Post by guyfromzebra_tech52 » Sat Dec 29, 2018 1:22 pm

Can someone please explain what the manual means by, "Companies may return the cannon to the surface, side of the pool by any means they wish, with the exception of lifting and recovering the cannon manually."

Thanks in advance

(For the full paragraph go to page 36 in the manual)

You can't use a person's muscles to return it to the surface. That would be manually returning it to the surface, side of the pool.

So using your ROV thrusters/motors to lift the cannon to the surface is fine.
Attaching a lift bag to the cannon and inflating it, than having your ROV push it back to the side of the pool is fine.

Attaching a rope/line/cord to the cannon, then having your tether manager (or other team member) pull on that rope to bring the cannon back is not allowed.

Good luck.

What about mechanically operated devices? Like say a winch, in which we wouldn't be using any human force to lift the cannon? Is this allowed?
