Ranger - "Highest Flow" tidal determination

Post by Ozrov » Mon Jun 11, 2018 6:42 pm

The tidal turbine task requires the team to determine the "Highest Overall Currents (Indicated by the largest green arrow).

Question 1) Is this always the largest green arrow with the highest number next to it (outside of the tidal zone), or should the team be averaging the tidal flow detail records from the last 24 hours for each location.

Question 2) The calculation requires maximum flow rate - this is the highest value from the detail records for the chosen site over the last 24 hours, correct?

Companies will get a laminated sheet with 4 tides over one day when they come to the station. They will need to use the average of those tides to determine the overall highest current location ... or optimum location.

For the calculation, you would use the maximum flow rate. That will be the value of the largest arrow. So if the largest arrow in the optimum location over the four tidal sets of the day is 4.5 knots, you would use that value.

Good luck.
