We are aware that the main connection to the power supply will be through Anderson connectors. We were wondering if we can use banana plugs to plug wiring to our console (basically, a box containing ON-OFF reversing switches) that come up from the ROV itself. I'm assuming not, since the switch to Anderson connectors was probably a safety related decision, but I wanted to check first because we have banana plugs and receptacles available that if they are allowed for this specific purpose.
(Details of the setup if it helps with your decision: main cables with 20 A fuse linked to the competition power supply via Anderson connectors, as required at our competition; cables then go to a distribution box where power is distributed to 5 separate lines, one for each motor, each with a 5 A fuse, and one line for our cameras with a 500 mA fuse ... we then wanted to connect those power lines directly to our console, and then connect further wires [coming from the switches] down to the motors etc on the ROV using banana plugs and receptacles that we would like to put on our console)
